About Melanie Porter: Melanie was born into a family of makers, learning sewing and tapestry from her grandmother, upholstery from her grandfather, & spinning & weaving from her mother. After spending 10 years working in the fashion industry, she had a craving to get back to doing what she loved. Using many of the tools passed down from generations, she mixes the old with the new, spinning and making all her unique fairy lights by hand in her London, UK studio.
